The Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) is seeking dedicated and passionate people to join our Board of Directors. This is your opportunity to play a vital leadership role in advancing safe practice and protecting the public interest across the Yukon.
We invite nominations from active YRNA members in good standing and members of the public who are committed to upholding the values, mission, and mandate of the Association. Nominees should meet some aspects of YRNA’s Competency Matrix. Whether you're an experienced leader or a new voice with fresh ideas, your perspective is valuable. We would also welcome all prospective Nominees to review their eligibility in Part 4 of the YRNA Bylaws regarding the Formation of the Board.
All Nominees will be reviewed by the YRNA Nominations Committee in order to ensure that they are eligible under the Act, Regulations, and Bylaws, as well as qualified under YRNA’s Competency Matrix.
RN/NP Professional Member x2- please note that this is an elected position - if there are more qualified candidates than open positions, an election will be held for this position. Election information can be found in Part 4 of the YRNA Bylaws under Election Procedure
Indigenous Public Member - please note that this is an appointed position - the current YRNA Board will appoint public members based on the Recommendations of YRNA’s Nominations Committee.

Nomination Deadline:
All nominations must be submitted by 29 August 2025.
Nominations will be reviewed and potential appointees/candidates for election will be finalized by 15 September 2025.
Election Deadline:
If an election is required, it will open on 16 September 2025 and close on 16 October 2025. Further information will be provided once a need is determined.
To nominate yourself, please submit a nomination package outlining how you meet one or more of the competencies, skills, or areas of expertise contained within YRNA’s competency matrix, submit a written and signed declaration that they meet all of the conditions for eligibility and that you are willing to serve if elected or appointed, and submit your application to Admin@yrna.ca.
All nominations for Professional Member positions must also be signed by 5 active YRNA members in good standing. Please find the Nomination Form here.

YRNA Complaints Committee
The Complaints Committee, established in the Act, oversees investigation and wherever possible, consensual resolution of complaints. This committee also provides advice to the Board on improvements to the complaint resolution processes and procedures.
Membership of the Complaints Committee consists of both YRNA registrants and members of the public.

The Nominations Committee, established through YRNA's Bylaws, reviews potential Board members for eligibility based off of YRNA's competency matrix and other requirements as set out in YRNA's Bylaws. This Committee is a short term Committee that is established purely to review Board Nominations.
